  • I know this is pretty obvious, but I just wanted a confirmation. Who are the cats featured on the covers of Lost Stars, Veil of Shadows, and The Place of no Stars? And who are the smaller cats featured on the bottom of each cover?

  • Hey, I wanted to ask, what will be the next short story? I love them! And, Kate, what is your favorite cat in Warriors?

  • Hey Kate!
I have a question for you.
Do you know if The Broken Code will be the last arc of the series, or is there still more to come?

  • Hey Kate! I was wondering, since the cover and title of the sixth book have been revealed yesterday, do you know when the blurb will come out?

  • Hi, it has been a month since Darkness Within has been published (My Brain: ALREADY??). Am I allowed to do a theory article about The Place of No Stars (the book)? I’m new so I don’t really understand what to do. Thanks!

    • You can do theory articles on any books, even very new ones! The article editors will slap a spoiler warning for the arc onto the article so people who don’t want spoilers don’t see them by accident! C:

  • I feel like in this book we should get deeper into the mystery of Snowtuft (maybe), and I have another cool idea! Of course, it involves Mapleshade.

[spoiler title=”My theory”] So… Mistystar is in the Dark Forest search party, and Mapleshade attacks her. Mistystar dies, and isn trapped in the fading StarClan (sorry Mistystar.) Reedwhisker’s first decision as leader is to invite Icewing and Harelight back, and making Icewing deputy. However, Mapleshade jumps out from a tree before Reedwhisker can get his nine lives. She kills him, completing her vengeance, just before Icewing kills Mapleshade for the final time. Icewing receives nine lives from the fading StarClan, which now includes Reedwhisker. SHe becomes Icestar. Who she makes deputy, I don’t know yet…
Who do you think? Also, if this happens, Mothwing will go back to RiverClan and stop being a jerk to Shadowsight.

  • Kate..? I have a very important thing/question to discuss!

I was rereading Spottedleaf’s Heart…and I was feeling a bit down because of how Spottedleaf was treated. I feel like she should’ve had someone to talk to about, but she didn’t feel obligated to tell Thrushpelt or Bluefur, even though they could’ve helped her. And I notice in recent books, young cats are blamed for things they can’t control…being manipulated, being hurt and disabled, etc…because I think the Clans believe that cats are SUPPOSED to be born all-knowing and wise, since they’re clearly born with the immediate ability to speak and learn things.

But…it goes a step farther in the newest book…Shadowsight, Bristlefrost…they’re literally BLAMED for being manipulated…I’m sure the intention there was to show how wrong the blamers were, but still…it hurt to watch, especially since I’ve been in their shoes (paws?). I know what it’s like to be in that kind of uncomfortable situation, and feeling like I couldn’t tell anyone, not even my closest family members or friends, about it.

So my question is…Do you think there should be a counselor-like position in the clans? Someone to serve as a cat that all cats can talk to without fear of being judged or condemned…someone to listen and help them, and even step in when needed. I can think of…plenty of situations where a counselor could’ve helped young cats in fear of something they’re hiding…Bluestar (then Bluefur), Ravenpaw, Twigbranch and Violetshine their whole lives, Lionblaze as an apprentice, Blossomfall, Breezepelt, Spottedleaf, the current protags…even Squirrelflight and Leafpool. Because it seems that when cats have no one to turn to, they take decisions into their own paws, and it can lead to devastation. That’s why so many cats ended up in the dark forest. The counselor themself would be like the mediator…older, wiser, having mentored young cats or even been a parent…someone who can UNDERSTAND the situation they might be going through, and chooses emotions and morality over the warrior code. (If I had to pick a current character to be a counselor, I’d say Tree in a heartbeat, or otherwise Squirrelflight, Whitewing, Twigbranch, or Hawkwing).

I know it’s kind of late in the series in general to even think about adding a counselor position…but maybe the mediator can take it then, since that’s a fairly new position as well. I just feel so terrible for the young cats…I know they’re fiction, but they’re real in emotions and actions to me, and it really hurts to see these very real emotional situations being inflicted on cats who feel they have no one to turn to.

Anyway….sorry this is long…what do you think?

    • A counsellor is a good idea, but I like to think that in a Clan, there’s no need for a counsellor because warriors take care of each other. A counsellor is only needed in a society so large and unwieldy that members have lost any real connection to other members. Sure, out characters have problems, but they can work through them without help from a particular cat because being member of a Clan with Clanmates and denmates is enough to carry them through. I’m sure kittypets need councillors far more because they only have two legs to talk to.

      • That’s true! Thank you ^^ but I really hope in future books, warriors will choose to step forward to personally help cats who are struggling, or prove themselves trustworthy so that young cats see that they can confide in them. Like, I can totally see Shellfur coming to Stormcloud and explaining his hidden grief for his dead brother Stemleaf, or maybe Flywhisker talking to her former mentor Twigbranch about the fear she’s felt in Thunderclan, feeling like she doesn’t belong, something Twigbranch is very much familiar with. Granted, this could all be head canon and that’s fine, because really, we can all see these things happening!

      • For example if a warrior needs a cat equivalent of a psychiatrist they should just go to their local medicine cat.

  • I think that Ash Ash oh mah gash is gonna kidnap SquirrelFlight then Then The new Prophecy gang (BristleFrost ShadowSight and RootSpring) go to save her then they get trapped

  • Hey Kate, I have a question… Would you consider RavenWing an evil cat? Or possibly just a cat obsessed with the Warrior code? And did he go to the dark forest?
