Headcanons –
Tallstar drastically shows favouritism to Onestar, Morningflower and Ashfoot, since they are his nieces and nephews. They all get apprentices early, meaning Onestar is only just into warrior hood when he gains Whitetail as an apprentice, maybe after her mentor retired or died or something. When they get a lot older, they confess their love to each other.
Onestar didn’t choose Crowfeather as his deputy because Crowfeather reminded him too much of himself. In a forbidden romance, then using an in-Clan romance to redeem himself. Also, he thought that if he chose Crowfeather as deputy, he’d be suspected of having bias towards him, Crowfeather is his nephew. He probably saw what was happening in ThunderClan with the one-family rule, and didn’t want it to carry over to WindClan.
Onestar felt guilty that he was chosen as deputy over Mudclaw, and thought that Mudclaw would’ve made a better leader, so he became the leader Mudclaw wanted to be, as not to disappoint WindClan Mudclaw supporters.
Onestar forgave the Dark Forest trainees because
a) Tallstar would’ve done that
b) Mudclaw may’ve done that
c) Heathertail, his daughter, would’ve drop kicked him across the lake

Hi Kate, I was wondering if you knew anything about the new novellas? Normally they would be published at the same time as a series book in April, however we never got any news about them. Has the schedule changed or should we just not expect any novellas in 2022?

I wish the super edition had been on Darktail instead. We need more villain POVs, and Darktail would have been way more interesting than Onestar.

Not Kate but in the allegiances of River, Mistystar was the oldest cat, likely followed by Barley or Mosspelt
