Hello! Today I am going to talk about Mapleshade and Appledusk and why Mapleshade deserves Starclan and Appledusk deserves the Dark forest. Now let’s get started! Mapleshade and Appledusk were at first mates but when Thunderclan found out they exiled Mapleshade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Which is unfair because Leafpool got away with it!!!!) Then Mapleshade and her kits went to the river to get to Riverclan but Mapleshade’s kits drowned because Appledusk did not help!!!!! Then he blamed Mapleshade when it was his fault that Mapleshade’s kits died!!!! And it gets worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He makes the Riverclan leader exile Mapleshade and gets a new mate!!!!!!!
And then Mapleshade started seeing visions of her kits begging her to kill Ravenwing, Frecklewish and Appledusk!!!!!! Then later she goes to the Dark forest when she dies INSTEAD OF STARCLAN!!!!!!!!!! Mapleshade did go a little over the top at the Dark forest but she did have a point unlike Tigerstar who is evil and nothing else!!!!! AND APPLEDUSK GETS TO BE LAZY IN STARCLAN!!!!!!!
Mapleshade was happy when she went to the Dark forest because she would see cats that understand her reason to kill Ravenwing, Frecklewish and Appledusk. She would be even more happy if she went to Starclan with her kits and got to hunt with her kits and feel happy all the time instead of going mad in the Dark forest!!!!!!!
Now time to go through Mapleshade and Appledusk’s good and bad things!!!
First the good things!!!
Mapleshade: Loves her kits.
Appledusk: No good things about him!!!!
Now the bad things!!!!
Mapleshade: None
Appledusk: He hates Mapleshade!!!!!!
So Mapleshade needs to go to Starclan and Appledusk needs to go to the Dark forest!!!! Mapleshade is much better then Appledusk because,
1. He does not love his kits and Mapleshade does.
2. He is evil and Mapleshade is not.
3. He blames Mapleshade when it is his fault that Mapleshade’s kits died.
4. He should not be in Starclan.
So Mapleshade is not evil and Appledusk is!!!!!!!!!! Appledusk is 100% evil!!!!!!!!!!!
Appledusk fans and Mapleshade haters please don’t shout at me but if you think Appledusk is good you are so wrong!!!!! Appledusk is evil and should rot in the Dark forest!!!!!!!
Sorry if I sounded rude but really Appledusk is evil and lots of people love him which is crazy!!!!

I don’t agree. Firstly I would like to say- Mapleshade killed 3 cats… willingly. She wanted to comit murder, that is not okay. If you think cheating on someone is worse than three gruesome and torturous murders that’s you opinion and I respect it even though I disagree. Second- I think you were exaggerating with the “Appledusk did not want to save his own kits and persuaded Darkstar to exile Mapleshade” he did try to save them, he shoved a stick for them to grab onto, he did not Persuade Darkstar to do anything 1) that was Reedshine 2) Mapleshade wasn’t in RiverClan to begin with. To conclude this: neither of these two cats deserve StarClan.
Still, maybe Mapleshade wouldn’t be horrifically evil in the Dark Forest if she went to StarClan. She would be with her kits and be happy! And her kits were BEGGING her to kill. Would you be able to stand your dead children begging you for help and the only way you could was to kill? I don’t think so.
agree…even if her kits begging her to kill was an illusion…PLUS how could she know that they were not her kits and that they were illusions.
Maybe because if she really knew her kits at all she would know that sweet, innocent children could never want their mother to go on a murder spree that would send her to DF and separate them forever?

These are not true statements.
Mapleshade Pros: Loves her kits
Mapleshade Cons: Willing to kill three cats, actually did kill three cats, helped train about 6-7 generations of killers and murderers (Thistleclaw, Antpelt, Attempted to train Goosefeather and Crookedstar)
So I definitely think that Mapleshade’s Cons outweigh her pro.
Look deeper…WITHOUT APPLEDUSK MAPLESHADE WOULD BE THE LEADER OF THUNDERCLAN AND END UP IN STARCLAN SOOOO… In reality appledusk caused Mapleshade to become evil and therefore is the true villain(Appledusk MADE Mapleshade turn into a killing machine which lead to her training others to be evil.)
Mapleshade kinda became mates with Appledusk? So it’s also her problem? Plus, her response to being exiled was very extreme. Look at Crowfeather, another cat who was exiled because his leader was being unreasonable, and who was in trauma because his former mate could’ve died. He responsibly left the territory and didn’t kill anyone. Mapleshade killed 3 cats. It’s her fault for murdering a bunch of cats, not Appledusk’s for being her mate 🙂
You can even question if she’s actually a good mother as well. She endangered her kits by making them cross a flooded river, and was an irresponsible mother, more worried about her own reputation than the kit’s lives
So pros: Used to be a loyal warrior? Maybe could’ve become leader if she did some things differently? Loved her kits a little bit? Very good villain
A lot of these claims aren’t true , 1) She did not go mad in result of being sent to the DF , she was allready mad before. 2) She ends up training Thristleclaw who train Tigerclaw who trained Hawkfrost who trained Breezepelt and Ivypool and even at some point trained Brokentail. 3) Those were probably hallucinations of her kits since like I said point 1 rhe death of kits drive her to insanity , such mental loss and stress causes hallucinations or Vivid Dreams. 4 ) I think Mapleshade deserved to go to the DF but only for a enough time to be fully published for killing 3 cats. After that I would have liked her to be moved to Starclan. 5) Appledusk does not deserve the DF since it’s only for cats who are 100% pure evil , I’m pretty sure there is no place where you can punish toxic cats so he went to starclan. Conclusion) A lot of your Article seemed to be just ranting without evidence which I absolutely need in order to review your point of view probably
Mapleshade killed cats which is why she went to the DF and Appledusk didn’t kill anyone, he went to StarClan. So I’m sorry but I don’t agree because Mapleshade KILLED OTHER CATS IN COLD BLOOD

Great article! I love Mapleshade. She deserves to be happy with her kits in Starclan. Appledusk, on the other paw, is mean & the worst mate ever. I mean, he might have been just as grief-stricken as Mapleshade & just lashing out, but still. Seriously, if I made an article about the worst mates, Appledusk would be at the top of the list.

Even if all Mapleshades actions were done out of love, she still murdered cats and became a psychopath. And technically, Appledusk didn’t do anything particularly evil. He’s a jerk but plenty of jerks got into Starclan. Just because he was rude doesn’t make him evil.
I’ll quickly explain the [real-life] implications of Mapleshade’s actions.
1: She breaks the warrior code by having a relationship with Appledusk.
2: She emotionally manipulates and lies to Oakstar and Frecklewish.
2.5 She attempts to coerce Ravenwing into hiding information from his leader [that is, lying by omission] and is unsuccessful. This gets her and her kits exiled.
3: She causes the deaths of her kits by making them cross a flooding river. Three counts of extreme child neglect, or gross negligence. [legally]
4: She goes to RiverClan and she is exiled before she can join. Fair enough, she just recklessly endangered her own children, leading to their deaths. Darkstar has no obligation to house her.
5: She murders Ravenwing and digs up his body after it is buried. First count of premeditated homicide.
6: She causes Frecklewish to be bitten in the eye, leaving her to die blind and in agony. Second count of premeditated homicide.
7: She kidnaps Perchpaw to lure out Appledusk and Reedshine. A kidnapping charge.
8: She attempts to murder Reedshine and her three unborn kits. Four counts [yes, four] of attempted homicide.
9: Mapleshade instead kills Appledusk, leaving Reedshine and her kits without a mate or a father respectively. Third count of homicide [and to my knowledge this last one could be considered manslaughter], this time not premeditated but still a murder nonetheless.
So in all, that’s three counts of child neglect, a count of what could be considered contempt of court [she was not to come back onto ThunderClan territory, since she was exiled] a triple homicide, a kidnapping charge, and four attempted murders.
All of these allegations, since there is no proof refuting her guilt, would very likely get her convicted. Mapleshade deserves the Dark Forest 100%.
Nice article, but I respectfully disagree. Appledusk isn’t the best cat, trust me I know. But Mapleshade isn’t the best either. Poor Ravenwing! All he wanted to do was be truthful to his leader. But I do think Mapleshade could have been smarter when taking her kits in the river. There was a bridge, so, yeah. But I understand how she could be not thinking straight!
I disagree. Like Snowony said, she KILLED three cats. Yes, she was upset, but murder is never the answer. And remember, Leafpool was super close to going to the Dark Forest, too, but she did redeem herself and stayed morally good, unlike Mapleshade. Also Leafpool did pay by stepping down as medicine cat and having her kits despise her.
The visions of the kits weren’t real, they were hallucinations by Mapleshade (canon). They could have also been influences by the Dark Forest, but we don’t know for sure. And Mapleshade did go to the DF because she acted on those. Ravenwing was doing his job, and was still coping with being a very new medicine cat after the death of his mentor. Frecklewish was betrayed by her best friend, but she did pay the price by also going to the DF.
I do agree that Appledusk having a relationship with Reedshine while dating Mapleshade was questionable. But while this is morally gray, it is not stated in the laws of StarClan that it is worth being eternally punished for. And he did love his kits, the reason he told Mapleshade NOT to take them near the river was because he didn’t want anything to happen to them. In this case, Mapleshade was in the wrong for not listening to a RiverClan cat who clearly knew more about the water than she did. (1/?)
