Fallowpaw queries BlogClan on its opinion of Dawn of the Clans.

Hi, BlogClan! So, you probably wonder what BCSTD means😛 It means: BlogClan Solves The Debate! I will make this a series in which I ask BlogClanners for their opinions on stuff, and then post it in an article! Today, we will be looking at DotC! Feel free to tell me your opinions in the comments if you aren’t in this article! Okie, let’s start with the comment I made on the Sunning Patch:
‘I want to do an article with BlogClan’s opinions on DotC! If you don’t want to be mentioned in the article, that’s totally fine and you just have to tell me.’
I got 6 replies, all with some different arguments! Here’s the one I got from Flowerpaw:
‘I really like DOTC! From a group of cats starving in the mountains during a terrible leaf-bare to the foundation of the Clans, this arc portrays the struggles of the cats as they settle into their new territory, and their fight for peace and prosperity. There was so many interesting characters, and a ton of emotional scenes where I could feel myself blinking back tears at Gray Wing’s death, or swallowing from the intensity of the First Battle. It’s one of the best arcs I’ve ever read, and I’m glad I got the chance to read DOTC! Not to mention, it produced my least favorite character, and a few of my favorites <3’
The next answer I got was Mallowpaw’s, here it is:
‘It’s a great arc with probably the most developed set of characters. The plot was great and almost all of it was really good, except for Skystar’s bad redemption arc and Violet Dawn.’
Then the page flipped, but luckily 4 more people replied to the repasta, so this is Mushroompaw’s comment:
‘Thunder Rising took me AAAAAGES to finish it was so boring. I loved the DotC storyline, it was just kinda tedious, I missed the modern cats, and I felt like I just wanted it to be over. Honestly it would be better as a trilogy. There was too much imo!’
Then Oddpaw replied with this comment:
‘I was so sad In DotC that like, the only mention to like, ACTUAL CLANS was a couple of kits saying. “‘OOOooOOOoh, WINDCLAN SOUNDS SO COOoooOOOoool.” Yes, I know that they were already kinda acting like Clans, and yes, I know there are super editions with them as Clans, but that’s just my opinion. :P’
I also got this reply from Silverpaw:
‘I think I’m the only person who actually likes Clear Sky xD personally, I think DotC is just “meh.” Too many fights in the arc’
And lastly, here’s Eaglefrost’s:
‘I found DoTC to be the most boring of the arcs but I find Skystar to be a compelling cat. He’s an Enneagram 6 (or maybe 8) btw. 😅’
So that’s it for the comments, now time to list some positive and negative arguments! Here are the positive ones:
1. It was interesting.
I agree with this one, it was really good to see how it all started!
2. There were some good emotional scenes.
I agree that those scenes were written very good, though I found DotC a little too sad sometimes.
3. The characters were developed.
I agree that in DotC itself, characters like Gray Wing, Jagged Peak, Thunder, Wind Runner, River Ripple and many others had great great development. I just feel like Moth Flight’s Vision ruined some of that.
4. The plot was great.
It really was! But yeah, I love almost all of the plots in Warriors😛💙
5. Clear Sky was a good character.
I don’t really agree on this one. Clear Sky constantly got on my nerves, he acted super pathetic in his chapters, and married, first his brother’s, then his son’s crush! No offense if you like him ofc, cuz that’s totally fine!
Now the negative arguments:
1. Clear Sky’s redemption arc was horrible.
So true. It went good for a really, really, really, really, REALLY short while in DotC, but then Moth Flight’s Vision ruined it. I honestly hate Clear Sky.
2. Violet Dawn is a bad character.
I don’t really have much of an opinion on her.
3. It was boring.
I never thought DotC was boring, so I disagree with this one.
4. It’s not about the modern cats or cats.
I didn’t really miss them, but I do understand this one.
5. It had too many fights.
Agree! There are really much very violent fights, so it’s a little too much. Okay, that were all of the arguments.
Conclusion:
My general opinion on DotC:
It’s a nice arc with some cool cats, also one cat I despise (Clear Sky), but the plot was amazing. It’s cool to see how the Clans came to be, and I loved Tall Shadow so much, though it does bother me that Clear Sky’s personality is totally not in line with a cliché SkyClan cat, while Thunder, Tall Shadow, Wind Runner and River Ripple are. But I like DotC, and I enjoyed reading it.
BlogClan’s general opinion on DotC:
The storyline and plot are really good, but it’s a little boring sometimes. The characters were amazing, especially Clear Sky was cool to read about, though his redemption arc was bad. Violet Dawn wasn’t the best and there were a bit too much fights, but the characters had great development and it was interesting to know how the Clans started. The modern characters and Clans were missed, and DotC is kinda meh.
So, that was it for today, BlogClan! Fallowpaw out!
Nice article, Fallowsy!
💅✨Gorgeous✨ article!
Nice article! Personally I think DotC was cool but I totally agree on it being shorter… it took a surprisingly long amount of time for me to read, given how fast I usually read. I don’t know if it’s because my unconscious mind thinks it’s boring or what, I didn’t have a lot of motivation reading it.
Same! I usually read fast, but rereading the DotC books is kinda boring for me not gonna lie:/
Omg my thing was from so long ago and it’s so cringe 😛😛😛😛😛
Interesting article, nicely done! DotC is my favorite arc so it’s quite neat to see what others think of it :]
Great article! I think DoTC is the best arc, no hesitation. I love it SOOOOO MUCH!!! I think finishing it was the first time I finished an arc and didn’t feel happy about it cuz I wanted to continue reading 😭😭😭 It’s all just so awesome, the characters, the plot… I like these characters way better than the modern cats and everything is just awesome lol
I haven’t read Moth Flight’s Vision tho so idk that may be horrible, even tho I doubt it
Nice article! Personally DotC is my least favorite arc. I didn’t even finish Path of Stars. Maybe I will now though.
Great Article! I personally am just rereading Dawn of the Clans right now, and I have to say that I like Clear Sky’s redemption a lot more than I did before. Clear Sky 1-3 books was a character I loathed more then anything, but his redemption was good for his character. Ruined in Moth Flight’s Vision though.
I do like the arc except the fact that most of the she-cats in the arc are just toys for the toms and die for their story (I mean THREE TOM POVS? Come on Erin’s 😭), like Violet Dawn who is just a bland love interest for Thunder and Slate.
But yea Great Article ^^
Completely agreed on the she-cat thing
Awesome article! Dawn of the Clans is my least favorite arc. I liked it still but it wasn’t the best. Although it was cool to see how the Clans came to be.
Great article! In my opinion DotC is by far the best arc, and nothing can change my mind on that. I’ve reread in 2 or 3 times actually 😛
Great article! 👍🏾 I think DoTC is an ok arc. I think Clear Sky and Thunder are annoying tho
Great article! I love DOTC!!!!
Great article! Super fun to read, and just wanna tell you that, I actually never finished reading dotc cuz I thought it was real boring.
Cool article tho, it really got me thinking maybe I should try it out again
I don’t really see what everyone has against Violet Dawn. I’m neutral on her. I think her name is pretty, although I don’t like the fact that she was a dark gray cat with amber eyes when at the time there were TWO other significant characters that were ALSO dark gray with amber eyes (Gray Wing and Slate). I also don’t like how Thunder literally took ONE LOOK at her and immediately fell in love even faster than he fell in love with Star Flower. But then, that’s Thunder’s fault, not Violet Dawn’s.
