  • Coldstar settled into her warm, mossy nest in her den. It wasn’t that hard to fall asleep, in fact, she fell asleep almost intstantly. She dreamed she saw a light, a big, blinding white and yellow light. She tepped forward, memorized. Closer she got, closer and closer… She woke with a start. What was that about? She thought. She looked around. This wasn’t her den! Then, she saw her. Her mother, Snowstar. She looked exactly like her, except she had stars in her fur and she looked faint. Is this StarClan? Am I dead? I ask. She laughs quietly. Yes this is StarClan. And no, your not dead. Want a tour? She asks. I nod eagerly. As we alk along, she tells me why I am here. Coldstar, we have brought you here because you have a great power. You have a special connection to StarClan. You have two paws in StarClan and two paws in SnowClan. You have the power of coldness, of the stars, and of the future of the Clans. She slows down. Here is the StarClan camp. She looks at me. Want to help stock the fresh-kill pile? Of course! I say. We hunt late into the night. I bring back tons of fresh-kill. Snowstar tells me to eat. So I do. I grab a mouse and share with Snowstar. We then share tongues. Later, Snowstar licks my ears and whispers, it’s time to go, my little one. I’ll see you again don’t worry. And remember, I’ll always be with you. A blinding light sears my vision and I wake up to the sound of birds chirping.

    • Blossompaw was surprised at the news. “A new clan?” she murmured. She gazed at all the cats filing through the camp entrance. She saw a golden tabby stepping into the camp, who she assumed to be another apprentice. “Hi!” Blossompaw exclaimed, after bounding up. “I’m Blossompaw. Welcome to our territory!” The she-cat looked up at her with grey-blue green-flecked eyes. “Hey!” she replied cheerfully. “I’m Summerpaw. It’s great to be here!” She stared around the camp in wonder. Blossompaw watched her.
“Do you want something to eat?”
The two apprentices padded over to the fresh-kill pile. Summerpaw took a shrew from the pile. Blossompaw waited while Summerpaw ate. “How did you find SnowClan?” she asked when her new friend was done eating. “Our medicine cat had a prophecy, saying we would go on a journey to find snow.” She said. “So we traveled for a while, and eventually found your clan!” Blossompaw nodded in understanding. Summerpaw got up and stretched. “Wow, traveling really is exhausting!” she sighed.
Blossompaw accompanied her to the apprentice’s den. “You can rest here for now.”
“Thanks!” Summerpaw said. She curled up in one of the empty nests, and fell into sleep. Blossompaw walked away silently.
A new clan, she thought. Can we get used to this?
She shrugged and went over to the medicine cat’s den to talk to Gracepaw. She peeked inside, the sharp scent of herbs filling her nose. “I can’t believe we have a new clan sharing our camp!” she exclaimed. “Do you think they’ll be here together? Or if they’re nice?”

      • “I don’t know.” Gracepaw meowed to Blossompaw, while sorting the tansy and comfery apart. “But I do know that StarClan wants them here.”
She stopped her paws. “Why don’t you go and get to know them?” She asked. “After all, they’re sharing your den.” She twitched a ear in amusement. “There are no medicine cats, and I’m still a apprentice, so there’s no new addition to our den. It would be interesting to have another one though. She paused, tasting the air. “Oh, a injury already. And, from the scent, it looks like it’s a former LightClan- er, new SnowClan member. ”
Flutterbrook hopped over, with Lionflame supporting him. Gracepaw glanced over at the nursery, hearing squeaking noises. That’s right; Flutterbrook is the new kit, Apollokit’s father. Strage name the kit’s got, although that goes the same for me too.
“Hello, Flutterbrook.” She dipped her head respectfully. “What can we do for you?” Flutterbrook glanced at Blossompaw. “Uh, are you already a full medicine cat, or-” Blossompaw shook her head, the same time as Gracepaw spoke. “No, Blossompaw isn’t a medicine cat. I’m Gracepaw, the medicine cat apprentice, though. So, again, what can I do for you?”
“I think I stepped on a thorn.” Flutterbrook meowed. Gracepaw lowered her head, and caught sight of a thorn peeking out.
“That thorn’s gone in pretty deep. Hold still for a moment..” Gracepaw pressed her tounge against the edges of the pad, and the thorn came out just a little bit. She repeated it, until she could grab it, which she did. She tugged on the thorn, and it slid out. “Lick it while I get some marigold and cobweb.” She called over her shoulder as she padded into the medicine cat den. Marigold… and cobweb. She thought, satisfied. “Alright, let me see that wound.”
        I’m going be busy.

  • Moonpaw yawned. Padding to her nest in the apprentices den, she laid down and fell asleep immediately. (That’s right, I’m having a special dream!)
The mottled she-cat walked through a familiar oak forest, the place where she had lived when she was a kit.
Moonpaw wasn’t born in SnowClan. She was born as a loner to her mother Dawn along with her sister and best friend, Fern. They had lived in constant fear, always moving around their oak forest. Dawn had said that it was the best way to stay alive and she had repeated the same three things every single day:
    Stay safe
    Follow the stars
    And trust nobody
A glimpse of silver fur caught the edge of her vision and Moonpaw whirled around hissing. A moon-colored she-cat stood a few mouse-lengths ahead of her, with soft white paws and brilliant sapphire-blue eyes that shined in the gleaming sunlight.
“Moonpaw, you have come far, as I hoped you would.” The silver she-cat said quietly. Her soft mew echoed in the still, cold air and Moonpaw shivered.
“Traveling far from your loner days will take a faithful heart, as the events in the coming moons will test even the strongest of spirits.” She continued, but then stopped suddenly.
    “What’s wrong?” Moonpaw asked.
“You must go.” The cat said, her mew suddenly fierce. “I can’t let anything happen to you, but listen to this, Moonpaw: Remember the past, listen to the present and have faith for the future. Theses words have more power than the sharpest of claws and teeth…”
She nudged Moonpaw with her silver muzzle and warmth flooded her as she crumbled to the ground, tired.
“No…” She said weakly, wanting to know more as her head dropped. In front of them, a pained cry sliced open the still air, along with the sound of evil laughing.
“Sleep now.” The silver cat murmured gently.
    Everything became dark.
Then Moonpaw woke up in her fern nest, her heart pounding.

  • Pinestripe padded over to the fresh-kill pile. Noticing how little prey there was in it, she changed her mind about taking a piece. The Clan must have enough food- I’ll be fine, I’ll eat when there’s more prey.
She instead walked over to Coldstar and the other Warriors. “There’s not much prey left,” she said, “We should hunt.”
