There are 4 clans, StreamClan, BreezeClan, SandClan and WoodClan.
The storyline is that the medicine cat of BreezeClan, Minnowfoot delivers a strange prophecy to the leader Swiftstar, that the youngest kit on night of the blue moon will have special powers that will save all the clans. BUT two kits are born that night, and Minnowfoot has run away from the clans. Swiftstar later mentors the wrong kit who she thinks has powers, and the umm stuff happens.

There are 5 clans that live peacefully in a valley far from the canon clans, though they resemble them in their own ways. ForestClan was the first clan to form itself. They are most like ThunderClan. MoonClan was next to form. They most resemble RiverClan; they’re peaceful (mostly). StormClan is next; their first leader, Stormstar, was once the ForestClan medicine cat at the time of Moonflight, ForestClan’s first medicine cat, though she ran away to have kits with Birdsong. They’re most like ShadowClan. SunClan is arguably the worst clan out of all of them. They’re WindClan, but evil, and seem to have invented their own warrior code. Started by Metalbite, a former ForestClan apprentice who failed his assessment and was exiled for purposefully leading foxes to camp and drowning Dawnwhisper, a pregnant queen, and her mate, Brambletail, and Clover, a rogue he found while wandering the forests alone, it’d be wrong to say they started out good. AdderClan is like SkyClan. They’re secretive but noble and trustworthy.
After seasons of peace (mostly), they’re now faced with more trouble. ForestClan’s facing greencough. MoonClan’s facing starvation. SunClan’s facing internal problems. StormClan’s fox problem is back. AdderClan’s leader died, and the new leader is younger and less wise.

AdderClan, after several rogue attacks and the death of their medicine cat, Echowatcher, are falling apart.
But in the middle of the turmoil, a medicine cat, Sweetblossom of StormClan, is given a prophecy saying that five cats will save the clans…
