The clans have been ravaged beyond repair…

PLAGUE.

It is a word that strikes fear into even the most hardened medicine cats, who know the destruction one can bring. War, Famine, Natural disasters- they all pale in comparison. Only a few plagues have ever been recorded in the long and storied history of the clans, and every single one had devastating, generational effects. Redcough. Leukemia. Wasting Disease.

This latest plague makes them all look like nothing. An outbreak of the bacteria Yersinia pestis. Also known as the black death.

Patient Zero was a SkyClan warrior. Within a week, the entire clan had been infected. A gathering soon after became a super spreader event, gifting the plague to every single one of the clans.

A month later, it was all over. Eighty percent of all cats had been killed by the plague, with SkyClan being completely wiped out. WindClan and ShadowClan had suffered so heavily that they had effectively ceased to exist, with any remaining members of those clans escaping into the wilderness or forming new groups. ThunderClan had suffered the least and still somewhat functioned as a clan, although the majority of its warriors had also passed away from the illness. The status of RiverClan is unknown.

Thus sets the stage.

Sixteen survivors were left alive in total.

You are one of them.

Welcome to Plague’s 16, an RP set in a world where the majority of the clans have been wiped out by a deadly outbreak of disease. The old order has been broken, and a new, uneasy, unsteady one is rising quickly to take its place. How will you fare in this brave new world? Will you thrive and succeed- or perish, no better than those claimed by the plague?

CURRENT FACTIONS

THE SACRED GALE
Led by the fanatical Judas and his disciples, the Gale considers the plague to be a sign sent by some god (What god exactly? Nobody knows, and the Gale certainly doesn’t care) to “cleanse the land and make it pure.” They believe that the message of their god must be delivered to anyone and everyone- and if one does not receive it willingly, then you’ll be made to do it unwillingly- or you might just be executed. Currently, they control a large swathe of territory stretching from the Moonpool through the tunnels all the way to the Twolegplace.

NOCTARIS
An elusive, shadowy group led by the even more secretive and mysterious Nightbringer. Not much is known about this group except that they have a camp on the far western reaches of the former ShadowClan territory. Doesn’t really engage with any other factions and is mostly focused on rebuilding and recruiting more members.

But the night will vanquish all…

THUNDERCLAN REMNANTS
The last clan that’s still somewhat intact though they’re still extremely weak compared to pre-outbreak. Keeps to themselves, but they’ve started sending scouting patrols into the former territories of their once-neighboring clans and into the Twolegplace.

RIVERCLAN REMNANTS
The fate of RiverClan remains unknown, as after the gathering they immediately closed their borders, at first killing on sight any foreign warrior that dared intrude with no mercy. Later on, though, these killings stopped, both because no RiverClan cats were ever seen outside of their camp ever again and because the other clans were losing warriors at a rapid rate and simply couldn’t bother with them.

NOTE #34: They’re all dead. Except they’re not.
