  • Frighten of echomist she ran into the forest panting she looked behind her echomist wasn’t there sniffing the air she smelt mouse she did a awkward crouch and caught it. She smelt a pigeon she hadn’t had one in moons she leaped up and proudly caught it. Mm she said liking her lips she quickly dug in and ate very last bit she looked at the mouse she thought guess that’ll due

  • “Crowfang!” Echomist called. She rolled her icy blue eyes. “It’s so hard just to get guards around here. Crowfang!”

    • Crowfang froze. “Yes, Echomist?” He wondered what he’d done wrong– hadn’t she just asked him to go hunting?

    • Crowfang shuffled his paws. He didn’t want to seem disloyal, but he didn’t want to make things any worse for Foxtail. She was his only friend after all. Though… from what he’d observed, she didn’t see him as a friend any longer. He sighed. “Perhaps if we separated the prisoners? If we made smaller dens, put only one, maybe two prisoners in each, they wouldn’t be able to plot against us. And only letting them out of camp with an escort, a loyal warrior.” He glanced towards the entrance of the camp, where he’d seen Foxtail and Quailsong head to go hunting. Quailsong was expecting kits, wasn’t she? “And prisoners with kits– if we take the kits when they are born, give them to a loyal queen to raise, they will grow up to be strong warriors loyal to the Dark Forest.” He hoped that his answer would satisfy Echomist, even as he felt a weight of guilt in his chest when he thought of what Foxtail would say when she found out what he’d done.

  • Quailsong panted looking around she saw foxtail she panted I hunted but it wasn’t a good idea. Laying down she started panting she looked at foxtail the kits there coming a spasm took her. Oh why StarClan did you have to send my kits here and now. Gasping in pain she yelled go get a stick now.

    • Foxtail gasped in horror. She had no idea what to do during a kitting! She tried to be good at so many things, but taking care of kits wasn’t one of them. She thought in anguish about Ashkit, Briarkit, Tigerkit, and Lightningkit.
“No,” She said to herself, “They’re better off without me.”
Foxtail nodded at Quailsong, and ran off to fetch a stick.

((Sorry if that was weird, I just wanted to give Foxtail a secret backstory of sorts))

  • “Foxtail? Quailsong?” Echomist padded into the clearing. Quailsong was kitting!
“Sky and stone, kits.” Echomist sighed. “Right, you’re doing-” she struggles to say the word- “well.”
Three kits came out beside Quailsong. Echomist immediately took them away. “Crowfang has suggested that we do not let prisoners raise their kits, so I will be raising these brats.” She glowered are Quailsong. “Do you want to name them?”

  • Quailsong gasped and then moaned it hurt so bad looking around to make sure no dark forest warriors were around she crunched the stick. She yelled saying something’s wrong the kits stuck. She gasped as a spasm took her. Biting the stick she tried to calm herself down but she kept yowling. Looking at foxtail with fear in her eyes. She said please to get someone who’s had kits a dark forest warrior anyone. She gasped agian knowing she must be desperate to have a dark forest warrior help her

( it wasn’t weird it was fine)

  • Quailsong looked down at her kits and said the dark brown With white paws is thunderkit the gray she cat with blue eyes is shadow kit and the she cat with light yellow fur is sky kit

  • Quailsong flung herself at crowfang and hissed never try to touch my kits kicking at his legs. She yelled foxtail run with them I’ve got crowfang she looked at him with rage. This is something she would’ve never done before but you harm my kits I harm you she said to him clawing at his face.

    • Crowfang dodged the strike, batting at Quailsong with halfhearted blows. “Echomist already has your kits, Quailsong,” he said, attempting to reason with her. “Didn’t you hear what she said? Please, for the sake of your kits, stop this.”

  • Quailsong backed up and hung her head fine have the kits but don’t harm them please don’t harm them. Thinking in her head my kits stay safe and always know who your mother is she said looking over at them. Walking back to camp she looked at foxtail I’m sorry foxtail but it’ll be better than letting the kits die she said sadly. Lifting her head she whispered to her it’s not like I can’t have more and the more I have the more warriors there are to be loyal to us not dark forest.

    • “Nooooo!” Foxtail hissed in anger, “You’ll never take them!”
She attempted to grab another one, but it was in vain.
“I’m a loyal warrior, unlike the rest of you!” Foxtail looked at the Dark Forest warriors, then glanced at Crowfang. “Crowfang, I thought I could trust you, but I guess not. Did our friendship mean nothing to you? Did our clans mean nothing to you? And most importantly, did you family mean nothing to you? Of course they didn’t. You only care about yourself!”

      • Crowfang flinched at Foxtail’s words. “What family? What friends? You were my only friend, the only cat in the clans I cared about. If I hadn’t begged for you to be spared, you would’ve been killed with the rest of the traitors. Can’t you see that my loyalty to the Dark Forest is the only thing keeping you alive? Please, don’t make it all for nothing,” he begged. “Quailsong and Echomist are right, this isn’t a fight you can win. Please don’t make them kill you over this.”

  • Moonpaw picked at the shew that her guard had thrown at her face.
“ Eat it slowly.” He had hissed in her ear, his bug-breath filling her nostrils,” It might be the last meal you’ll eat.”
She carried the remaining scraps to Duskpaw.
“ Thank you, but I’m not hungry. Give it to your sister. “
He was thick furred, but that didn’t hide how hungry he was.
“ Eat it, feather-brain. “ she said,” Spotpaw already had something.”
He sat down and started eating, too hungry to complain anymore.
“ You can eat later. My master wants to see you two. “ A rasping voice came from the entrance, female and strangely familiar.
Duskpaw wirled around and mewed,” Mother!”
I’ve never done role playing before, sorry if it’s bad.

  • “I assure you,” Echomist whispered softly in Foxtail’s ear, “that these kits will have a better life being raised by a Dark Forest warrior than a prisoner.” Her kindness was gone as suddenly as it had started. “Back to camp, now. And you,” she turned round to Foxtail, “if you love these kits so much, here you go.” Echomist bit down on Skykit’s throat. Her breathing slowed and stopped. Her heart was still. She flung the dead body to Foxtail. “Back to camp.”
Echomist whipped around to Crowfang. “Come to my den.”
Echomist leapt towards the camp and into her nest, oblivious to whether Crowfang was following her. When turned around he was sitting down in front of her.
“Crowfang.” Echomist dipped her head. “It is nice to see you. Today has been a very productive day.” Echomist circled Crowfang. “So I would like to promote you to deputy.” Echomist suddenly thrust her muzzle in his face. “Or, I would, but there’s one problem. What is the No Stars Code, Crowfang?”
