Dangggg Skandar and the Chaos Trials is AMAZING SO MANY PLOT TWISTS AAAAAAA
AND I CORRECTLY PREDICTED ALL THE SHIPS HEHE
YES THE CHAOS TRIALS WERE INSANELY GOOD JEZTJNAERGSETUTSXTHNYTHDX
AND SKANDAR 4# THE SKELETON CURSE IS RELEASING THIS OCTOBER!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED 😀 😀 😀
ME TOOOO LIKE THE ENDING OF 3??? WHAT??? IT WAS JUST PLOT TWIST AFTER PLOT TWIST AND MADE ME REALLY THINKKKK AAAAA IT WAS SO EMOTIONAL AND YES BOOK 4 IS COMING OUT IN OCTOBERRRR YAYAYAY
I haven’t read the Skandar series yet, but I’ve wanted to ever since i saw an interview with the author on the local news! 🙂
Does anyone else not like Divergent??
All of my friends love it except me lol
I just couldn’t with the writing style and Tris was such a boring character for me. It felt like all her personality as soon as she met Four just went away – the first half of the book was good, but then it just devolves into poorly-written romance. Idk, I just… didn’t like it.
I liked part of it, but like you said, Tris’s romance with Four wasn’t that interesting.
I thought the first book was mid, but I hated the other two. Four was a cardboard cutout and Tris was just okay.
My friend was literally in love with Four and it drove me nuts lol
used to absolutely love that series but looking back it’s not really all that great, fourtris was questionable and tris as a character was hella bland
Never read it, sorry 🙂
Completely off topic, but is that quote in your name from Artemis Fowl?
YES 😀 have you read it???
Yes, I have!
I tried Artemis Fowl, but I didn’t really like it. I was just…boring
Yeah I’m halfway through the first book and it’s okay, but honestly I have read much better.
I tried it, but just couldn’t get into it. The idea is good, but the writing style and characters were super dull. The romance was extremely poorly written, and I stopped halfway through Insurgent because the characters were annoying and the story was going nowhere
I didn’t like Divergent 😛 I agree, the writing style was very plain. And either the plot line was extremely flat or it got excessively violent!! (Butter knife, hint hint)
Oh my gosh yes I hated that part and it made my eyes feel sore 💀😭
I didn’t like it much either. The writing style made it difficult to get into, and Tris is one of the most boring characters I’ve read. She was alright in the beginning of the book, but it went downhill as soon as she met Four. Their romance was totally unnecessary and didn’t add anything to the story. Four isn’t even an interesting character and I don’t see why Tris would’ve fallen for him. So yeah, it was a disappointing read.
It was alright, but not really my thing.
has anyone read the throne of glass series by sarah j. maas? I’m a few books in and I’m loving it so far. the romance is so well written and the plot twist at the end of book two was amazing. the subtle hints maas dropped were well placed too. I just had some trouble making sense of the world at first, like what significance Terrasan was to the rest of the world. anyone want to rant about it with me? 😛
My friend fed me nightmare stories and now I’m too scared to read anything by Sarah J. Maas 😛 😛
Yeah it’s a bit….intense. 😛 But I don’t think it’s too bad, as long as you don’t picture the “intense” scenes in your head too thoroughly 😛
I started reading, but i couldn’t get into it. The pacing was odd, I didn’t like the main character, and I didn’t enjoy the writing style in general. I love capable female characters but I hate it when they’re good at EVERYTHING. Let them have weaknesses! She’s the best assassin at 18?? It would take years to get that much skill. And when the backstory was being told it felt a whole lot like info-dumping.
I agree about the info dumping, and even after it, I still don’t really understand the setting 😛 And I couldn’t get into it at first either, I thought she was petty and kind of toxic. But I did keep going, and as I did, I saw many sides of Celaena that I didn’t see in the beginning, and that’s what made me continue reading.
I totally didn’t keep going partly because of the obvious love triangle-I haven’t read it, but it’s on my tbr list. I recommended it to my friend and she loves it!
I’ve read the series, and I have to say I didn’t really like it. Celaena is just too perfect, at least to me. I like capable female characters, but it’s totally unrealistic that she would’ve been the best assassin, capable of using every weapon quite well, playing the piano perfectly, and always having the right thing to say, all at the age of 18. As well, the writing style gets more and more difficult to get into over the course of the series. I get that the author wanted to introduce all the supporting characters (like Manon) and then bring them all together for the final book, but having to read four or five chapters from other characters’ points of view for every one character from Celaena’s point of view was pretty tiring.
Has anyone read ‘To Be a Cat’? I read it last year and I. LOVED. IT!!!!!!!!!! It’s literally the best book I ever read, the style is much better than Warrior Cats, the plot was great, and the end was very wholesome!!!
I read that a long time ago but I remember really enjoying it too!! Really unique and really fun
YESSS, IT WAS GREAT
I haven’t, but from what you say it sounds really interesting!!
how dare you say the style is so much better than warrior cats 😛 /lhj
but sorry, no, i’ve never read it :/
Well, tbh, I don’t really like the style of warriors that much😛 I just like the plots😛
Can you say more about this book? Who is the author?
The autor is Matt Haig!
I got it from the library yesterday.
Finished it last night. It’s an entertaining little book with a unique take on the relationship between humans and cats.
I’im reading the Inheritance Games (first book) and I really like it! Has anyone else read it?
Yeah, I’ve read those! Who’s your favorite character?
YESSSSSSSS 😀 I love it. I have read every single book that is released so far. Who is your favourite character 😛
I only read one book, but probably Libbye and Xander
Yesss but I finished it a few months ago, and my memory kinda sucks. 😛 I’m definitely going to be rereading it though. I remember adoring Libby, Grayson, Xandar, Jameson, and Thea and really hating on Emily though- 😛
yess I love it! I think I liked Jameson and Grayson, thought Nash and Libby were kind of annoying 😛
One of the greatest, possibly THE GREATEST person-into-cat novel is Jenny aka The Abandoned. Expect to shed some tears over this one.
I remember reading that when I was really small and, despite not being used to the writing style, really enjoying it! I feel like I should revisit it at some point.
I think it’s definitely worth reading again, but be aware that it’s a kind of emotional roller coaster.
Ohh I’ve read that one! I would love to re-read it; I read it in Korean at the time, so I might try the English version this time around.
There are bluey books 😛
Fav bluey ships and characters?
For me? BingoxLila and Mia 😁
There are Bluey books?!!?!?!?! :O
Yeah picture books 🙃😅🤣
Wait they might only have them in Australia…. Yep that sounds right 😛
They have them in the United States as well.
mia is underrated i love her <3 my fav character is definitely rusty though!! i love the space gang
Yassss and we learn so much about Mackenzie in Space! At first I was a bit confused but I watched a video explaining
Bandit x Chillie. I’m not comfortable shipping kids who aren’t even in their tweens yet haha
Same 😛
Fair enough 😛
REAL
I love Bandit. 😅 He’s so funny.
I just read the Cruel Prince and WOW. It was amazing. So now I have to ask; those of you who have read it, favourite/least favourite character??? 😛 😀
It’s been one of the first on my tbr for a while 😛 was it good? 🙂
Yess!!! 😀 I absolutely loved; you should definitely read it!!
My favourite character would have to be The Bomb. idk, I just like her.
My least favourite character is Locke. No explanation needed if you’ve read the book.
Hehe about that… *bolts* 😛
nooooo lily
How dare you.
*panicking* I have good reasons!!! 😛
Elaborate, please.
In comparison to, say, Valarien and Taryn and Balekin and whonot, Locke is actually much better 😀 okay sure, he’s manipulative and kind of terrible to Jude near the end, he still did good stuff, namely saving Jude from the whole faerie fruit incident. I don’t know a lot about the Bomb or Ghost or the rest of those people, and the rest of the cast are… umm, yeah. Tbh Locke was the only character who seemed to have a somewhat functioning moral compass, compared to his friend group (Carden, Nicesia, Valarien, etc.)
To summarize : Locke is terrible, but in my opinion he’s less terrible that the rest of the cat 😛
I see, I see. Alright, I see your reasoning. Peace?
*holds out hand to shake
my favourite is Ghost!
Hehe yeah, Ghost was cool 😀
I liked them enough to read the whole series, which I finished a couple of weeks ago. I’m not going to say much because I don’t want to give any spoilers. The plots are well crafted and the characters are well drawn. One thing I didn’t like about them is what I call “gratuitous weirdness.” What I mean by this is characters having skin and hair in every color of the spectrum, animal eyes and ears, insect wings, hooves, tails, etc. You could tell the story just as well with all the characters being normal humanoids, like the elves in LOTR. And riding on giant toads when you have horses. That’s just silly.
I think that might be because it makes the author write better. For example, almost everything I write is about cats, and when I write about people, I only write about girls from my age who are a lot like me in some ways, and who’s friends are all like my friends. This is all because, sadly, there are a lot of mean people on the world. And I just… don’t really like people that much. And yes, I can write about people is they are like me, but only if they are somehow connected to me. Otherwise, I have no inspiration and will mess the book up. But when I write about cats, it goes much better. That is because I like cats, and they give me inspiration. Maybe the author of that book had the same complex as me, and felt more of a connection to those ‘weird’ characters than to people.
Same!!! I mainly wrote cats because they’re much more familiar to me, and the idea of writing a character that’s completely “different” from you (species-wise) actually makes that writing process a lot smoother. Also easier to create. I write people a lot too, but it’s always really similar to several fictional characters out there because that’s where I draw my inspiration from 😛
I actually quite like the idea of faerie having all these interesting animal characteristics, but I agree that they way it was written made little sense, namely in the way where they look weirdly different from their close relatives (e.g., all of Eldred’s kids having animal characteristics that are nowhere near related to each other, the animal characteristics being totally random and not confined to species). The animal characteristics could’ve been really cool, has it been written with a little more logic. As for the frogs… I think that made some sense, as from what I recall the horses were for the more wealthy.
I’ve read it and I loved it. I haven’t read the second book yet cause I was desperate to start reading Percy Jackson. My favourite character is probably Cardan and least favourite is probably Valerian or Locke and maybe Taryn.
Yes Carden is awesome 😀
This isn’t a book recommendation but it’s an author recommendation! Her name is Natasha Preston and she writes standalone thrillers! I’ve been absolutely obsessed with thrillers lately and I love these! I’ve read two and both are murder mysteries, but I own three more of hers that I haven’t read yet.
Warnings for gore, some sexual mentions tho nothing onscreen in the two I read, suspense and a lot of death
(The two I read were called The Fear and The Cabin)
I love Natasha Preston! The last book I read, You Will Be Mine, really bothered me though so I haven’t read her in a while but it was also really interesting.
That one is near the top of my TBR!! Did you like it?
I did like it but the ending creeped me out.
I hear that a lot of her books end with cliffhangers and readers aren’t really satisfied with the answers, but I do like thrillers so…
Yeah they all end in cliffhangers I think but gosh they’re so good
Any of y’all read Devouring Wolf? I don’t know how many times I have. I’m obsessed with wolves and I LOVE this book!! There’s also a second one which is almost as good
looks like a cool book!! its not available in my library unfortunately D:
I’m reading Kiki’s Delivery Service. It’s pretty good. It’s very similar to the movie.
I KNOW RIGHT?????? I liked the book better than the movie :3
I love the series Hunger Games and I reading in for the third time :p ! It is very action paced and well-written though there is a lot of deaths and gore. Same with the Inheritance Games series tho I don’t really like the ships and the writing style. (Pls don’t judge lol it’s a really good book series)
Also my friends are recommending me the Twisted series. I’ve never heard of it and idk what the plot is, but if you have heard of it I would love some overviews!
From what I’ve heard, the Twisted series has a lot of mature content so I’m not sure if it would suit an apprentice?
I’ll be an apprentice for another year, I’ve handled more stuff than you’d think 😛 I think it depends on how old an apprentice you are. I haven’t read the series tho so don’t look at me
Personally, I’d say it’s really different for everyone. For example, I don’t like extreme gore in books, but my friends, who are the same age as me, have no problem with it. And I don’t mind a lot of deaths and sadness and stuff, while one of my friends often cries during sad things in books/movies. So it really depends on the person, not just the age.
soooo about the Twisted series, is it by Ana Huang? because if it is, I’m just going to say that it has a lot of sexual content that I, for one, am not very comfortable reading about. I’m perfectly fine with minimal or even mild sexual content, but I feel that the Twisted series has a bit too much lol. I have not read it and do not plan to until I’m a bit older (around 10-11th grade maybe), but I heard it is a pretty good series. 🙂
I need books to read :3 any suggestions?
Genre: preferably fantasy, action and adventure, or horror/ghost stories!
Please no curse words in them.
You can suggest books based on the ones I already read: Warrior Cats, Survivors, The Last Dogs (which is awesome), Seekers, Bravelands, Wolves of Elementa, Wolves of the Beyond, Guardians of Ga’hoole, Endling by Katherine Applegate, and I have read most Mary Downing Hahn ghost story books.
Please nothing with too much romance! ^^
The Hobbit and, if you enjoy that, LOTR
Ursula K Le Guin’s Earthsea series
Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy.
I love reading LOTR!!! My mom bought the books for me like 1 or 2 years ago and I read it!!
Great! Do check out my other suggestions, I think you’ll enjoy those as well.
