Naturns Sign Ups
Ok so I have a new story idea !
Everyone has a Naturn, an animal inside them, that shows itself on the day of their twelfth birthday. Then, on the 6th of September every year, a bus comes. The government calls it the Academy Bus, taking kids to the Academy of Naturns, a place where people learn how their Naturn can help in society. Everyone goes, but no one returns. At least not to where they came from. Relatives are a distraction from work, is the message ingrained to every child’s mind. Once you have left the academy, you may make friends, start a family, but never will you know who your parents are. It’s just always been like that. No one cares, why should we ? The world is happy, no one discriminates against race, gender, or sexuality because what matters is your Naturn, the bond you share with an animal.
All Naturn’s are equal, no one more or less useful then others. Apart from one.
The NaturnCats.
Now to you, the ones unfamiliar with our world, the answer may be obvious. Pest control. Yet long ago a petition was signed, saying that no animal may be killed for anything but food. Most people feel a connection to all of their Naturn’s species, and don’t want to see them killed. NaturnCows have it hard.
In the middle of it all, a rebellion stirs. A group of people, known only as FreedomClan. The ones who are unhappy with the system. Unhappy with the way they are stolen from their parents, before they even graduate school.
Unhappy with careers you are forced into.
Unhappy with the way people are treated once they have lost their Naturn’s.
It’s too late to turn back.

Now you may be thinking
Maple, you literally have about a million fanfics you have started and never finished why are you starting another
Hear me out on this one. I have had this story in my head since the first few months being on BlogClan. Other stories I have been exited about but the excitement has passed (Apart from cry in the Woods but that one I prefer to keep a my own story in my head)
As this story idea still hasn’t gone, I’m sure that I will persist with this one
Now about the world as their is soooo much I could not get into that intro, which was terrible, I know, I just want to get this form up.
So first off, the powers you gain once your Naturn shows itself
You can shapeshift into your Naturn, whose design is not at all linked to your appearance. Like I’m using my usual human appearance, ginger hair, pale skin, tall with blue eyes, but my Naturn which is, if you haven’t guessed already, a cat, black and white with amber eyes. That would be the form I would take should I transform.
Apart from that you gain a few perks, like NaturnBats May have good night vision and can echolocate or hear high frequencies. For my character, she can be very stealthy, and can follow scent trails.
You get to decide you perks.
Now, your Naturn does not stay in its normal form beside you all the time, it can go into a charm necklace, usually given to children on their 12th birthday. The charm is of you Naturn and magically forms itself.
Lost Naturns
If a Naturn dies, the person feels like they have lost a part of their soul, and never acts the same again, they often become either very quiet and sad, or loud and angry.
If a person dies, Naturn lives on, but they change. They will often try to rejoin the charm, which will fail, and everytime they do this they become spectral, and turn shade of swirling purple and blue. But most of they Time, they just roam, silently searching for their human.
FreedomClan
All people in FreedomClan go by a nickname, often random. Like my character is obviously going to be Maple, basically it’s your blog nickname.
In FreedomClan, their is one space for a person with a dead Naturn and two spaces for Naturn’s who are roaming free, but hang around the camp, sometimes following people.
Oh, and if you want to have a character younger then 12 go ahead, they just won’t know their Naturn yet, specify how long you would like them to take to discover it, or whether they will not find it out during the story
