i wanted to share a performance (dance & music) from the tony awards from the musical Illinoise, based on the album Illinois by Sufjan Stevens. it’s such a beautiful musical, and it is told entirely through dance and music, with no spoken dialogue. i know this is Music Discussion Page and the performance is dance-centric (although there is wonderful singing through the song :D) but i thought i might as well share anyway since it used to be the MusicAL Discussion Page ha

I love the music from Breakbot, Daft Punk, Modjo, Cassius, Justice, Air and more and I’m glad that songs like ‘Music Sounds Better with You’ by Stardust and ‘Nightcall’ by Kavinsky are currently gaining popularity again because it’ll hopefully introduce more people to Daft Punk, the Ed Banger Records music catalogue and more music like it because the French Touch never dies! 😀
honestly, one of my favourite parts about paris olympics was the super cool french electro music they had playing! i’m so glad i learnt about kavinsky through it – i already knew who angèle was and i listened to her music, so it was cool seeing her perform french electro 😀
