I just got the book today 😀 It’s really good so far, I’m not saying anything though until at least one other person here has read it hehe
I read the whole book in like an hour lol
I finished it yesterday (April 5th)

What is up with Bramblestar and Squilf? They’ve totally changed personalities- Bramble is very obviously not okay and is making decisions off of personal ties and feelings while Squilf is super strict and harsh. whaaaaat
Maybe Bramblestar had some internal conflict and realized just how horrible he was being to Squirrelflight! Maybe he’s changed for the better!
Or maybe the Erins forgot what his personality was again…😮💨
What happened in TBC is probably affecting both of them.

-I had suspected they’d kill off Mistystar, but Reedwhisker too? Yeesh.
-R.I.P Curlfeather.
-please make my girl minnowtail the leader pleaseeeeee-
-What’s that? Reports of rogue scent? [hellooooo- sol and sleekwhisher is that youuu]
-Looks like Berryheart and the older warriors are up to something..wonder what that is.
-Jayfeather’s ‘Eaten any good voles lately?’ got me-
-I love the name Nightheart [and Night’s dynamics w Sparkpelt]
-Hopefully Sky will keep the heat up, since this arc is looking to be one of the best yet.

I’m with you, I need Minnow girl to be leader of RiverClan. Also I can’t wait to see what Berryheart & the other warriors have up their sleeves…(pelts?) Hopefully Sunbeam won’t take to this idea they have.

Oh wow this book was… brutal. Honestly I really enjoyed it, and I feel like its written a bit differently from the rest.
All of the main characters just got traumatized.
Sunbeam was just emotionally manipulated by her mother, Blazefire just almost-died then broke up with her.
Flamepaw was very miserable through the book (poor Flamepaw, I like his new name though!)
And Frostpaw witnessed her leader’s, deputy’s and her mother’s death and nearly escaped death herself
All these cats are traumatized now.
Anywho, maybe Lightleap killed Reedwhisker?
Also, rouge scents… is it coming true? Did Sol and Sleekwhisker team up? Is my dream coming true?
And finally! Mistystar died! I really wish for Minnowtail (she’s cute) and Hopwhisker (the first calico in the entire series glorious savior of all the tortoiseshell-and-white cats) to become relevant, since they are startling to have a few moments to themselves.
I enjoyed the book, it’s actually well written, I’m looking forward to this arc, all the characters are very likable and RiverClan is finally becoming relevant!
My thoughts on the book:
Rip Mistystar, Reedwhisker and Curlfeather. You shall be missed.
FernXShell came out of nowhere, sounds intresting
Ooh, SpireXFringe is happening
I kind of hate Lightleap now
Spotkit, Bristlekit and Graykit are adorable
The new warrior names are cool.
I hope Sunbeam and Blazefire make up
ShadowClan warriors plotting, very intresting
Frostpaw is cool
MAKE ICEWING LEADER PLEASE
So yeah, this book was cool and I’m looking forward to more ASC
I think they’re setting up Bramble to be outed via 75% rule. He’s very clearly not his usual self in this book, and can barely lead. If you look, Squirrel is essentially running the Clan, while Bramble is scared of being forceful or confident in case it makes his Clanmates scared. He says all of five words and one nod at the Gathering-and only when prompted. I won’t be sad to see him go, but I hope Squirrel dies or resigns before then, because TBC shows she’s not a very good leader.
It’s less that she’s not a good leader in TBC, just no one respects her-
River Rant One:
Ok. I have A LOT to say about River. A LOT. Starting with number one. I really don’t think that Squirrelflight is up to par. She is kind of rude to Flamepaw. But I still love her, I cant choose. She is so protective of Bramblestar. Bramblestar has captivated me. I feel SO BAD for him!!! I hate that he has bad dreams about mauling his dear and precious Squilf!!!! And how everyone gets scared even if he is a LITTLE stern! (Which ALL LEADERS SHOULD OBVIOUSLY HAVE) I MEAN, PEOPLE, THIS GUY IS SO SAD. I LOVE HIM. HE IS STILL BRAMBLESTAR. JUST REMEMBER HIS TRAUMA. REMEMBER… AND let’s not forget Flamepaw! He was a bit stupid in his first assessment, but COME ON PEOPLE, ON HIS SECOND, THAT WAS A GREAT CATCH!!!! AND HE OUTSMARTED A HAWK, BUT NOOO, SQUILF DOESN’T APPROVE. SHE THINKS HE SHOULD BE MORE CAREFUL
*deep breath*
Ok, and when he FINALLY gets his name, he goes and contradicts it! He is like: “Oh, I dont wanna be Great-granddaddies little ancestor! I wanna be me! I wanna be a real cat, not a black cat named red!” Squilf going NUTS made me laugh SO HARD I CRIED XD. Bramblestar, being the compassionate cat we all know, (YES, PEOPLE, COMPATIONATE.) goes and names him Nightheart.
Also side notes, I love the gathering and cute Flamepaw speaks out!
Overall, i don’t think flame will be my fave.
And that is where Flamepaw/Nightheart ends.
