Please Introduce Yourself! (Retired)

Hello and welcome!

We hope you’ve already seen the New Member’s Page and learned a little bit about BlogClan. We’re delighted to welcome you to a site Kate Cary created to celebrate Warriors and its readers.

Please introduce yourself in a comment on this page. Tell us something about yourself or your purrsona. We prefer to use warrior names here. We hope that’s okay with you!

We’re looking forward to getting to know you!

• Hi! I’m Diamondclaw, and I stumbled across BlogClan one day. So nice to see people who know what I talk about when I say warriors, apprentices, Clans, moons and kits. I really want an apprentice soon!

• Hi! I’m Tinypaw, and it’s really cool that there are other people that are obsessed with warriors. Hoping to get a mentor soon!

• GRAcyyyyyy
Heyy
Its Doooooovvvveee
My zodiac is a Virgo
Ah, Raggedstar sucks 😛
Dovewing doesnt tho 🙂

Treepaw- light golden demi she-cat with one white paw
Dawnpaw – cream colored she-cat
Bonepaw – white she-cat

• Gracey!! Hi! I haven’t found the Ember Den yet…
I love talking to fellow Ravenclaw/Slytherins, I’m one of them except I guess I’m more Slytherin. Not in a bad way tho 🙂

• Good luck finding the Ember Den!
Oo yes me too
I’m more of a Ravenclaw, but I’m also ambitious 😛

• Yes, and you love Warriors so it’s the best of both worlds :). Whenever my family talks me down for being Slytherin, I just make them all take harry potter personality tests, and it’s hilarious how they feel afterwards. But like, I always try to remember that like, even though I am Slytherclaw, it’s a fictional house, and I don’t possess every Slytherin trait, ya know what I mean? People can’t be divided into 4 houses is what I’m getting at, we’re all unique.
I should tell that to my family, not you lol 🙂
Do you have any siblings?

• Yeah, I get what you mean. If everyone in the world was all the same, it wouldn’t be interesting..
I have a sibling, yes. I have a little sister, Unicornkit. Do you?

• Yeah, I have a little sister(Yellowkit), a little brother(Shadepaw) and an older sister(Rainyheart). I’m trying to get them to read Warriors, but Yellowkit isn’t allowed, Shadepaw is “on” Starlight, meaning he is not actually reading it, and it’s annoying. That’s why I came on the Blog, so I could talk about Warriors without being looked at weirdly 🙂

• Ikr like the other students at school are like woah what is this Warriors nerd (At least I had Bloomie, shoutout to her!) But in BlogClan everyone is like omg I totally get what you’re saying

• Raggedstar, oh Raggedstar. I could practically write a paragraph about how he is my least favorite character. Mainly, it’s because (in my opinion) he bullied Yellowfang. And you notice that Yellowfang is in my “favorite characters” section.

• Hiyaaa! YEs a fellow Moth Flight fan!!

• Why do you not like Dovewing (if the reason is because of something that happens in AVOS or later, then just tell me that because I don’t want any spoilers.

Also, where is the Ember Den?

• The Ember Den is a super special hidden page that Emberdawn, one of the mods, runs. The thing is, you have to solve a scavenger hunt to find the password! I have yet to find it, but I have found some clues. You may want to wait until you get to know this place more before searching for it, but the first clue is on the I Heart Discussion Page! I can’t say any more though! (And don’t get too stressed about finding it, there are many other fun places around here!)

• I don’t like Dovewing because of something that happens in AVOS….
And Briarpaw explained the Ember Den better than I could, so please look at that!!

• AAAAAAAA IKR
DEADFOOT IS A AMAZING DEPUTY
And Ashfoot is too

So that family is the deputy family
Deadfoot: Deputy
Ashfoot: Deputy
Crowfeather: Deputy

• surprisingly ashfoot’s brother onestar cOULD’VE been a deputy but skipped it entirely to leader cause of the mudclaw situation
but mudclaw was a deputy and was onestar/ashfoot’s cousin! :0

• hi I’m featherflight and I’m a new member on BlogClan! sorry if I made some mistakes when I write, but I am from Poland and…english is not my forte…

• Hi there! I’m Briarblaze but you can call me Briar or whatever comes to mind! I am indeed a tad new, but I know enough! Apprenticeships are fun, but I know I ain’t gonna have one of those for a bit. I’m just glad to be here!

• Hi! I’ve stumbled across BlogClan a few times but I only joined BlogClan (like, made an account) a few days ago. You can call me either Star or Mistpaw but if I participate in a game like NTA and I won a name, you can say that Star (Mistpaw) won and not just one because I may only have one of those names displayed at one time. I also might change my name depending on the season/holiday, like right now my name is Leaves That Fall in Autumn (Autumn Leaves) in honor of it being the fall/autumn season. I may also change my name soon to a Halloween name!

• Hi I’m flowerstar I hope you like my blogs but first I must find how to do them lol but I will do them soon see you there.

• Hello new and old members alike! I’m Pineblossom, but you can just call me Pine 🙂 I’ve been on the blog for about a year and a half, and I’ve loved every second on here. I enjoy drawing, calligraphy, and creating OCs, and you’ll often find me in a lot of different places but mostly the Tavern! Here, I’ve compiled a collection of tips and coding lessons (now complete with pictures!) to help you navigate BlogClan!
.
.
.
A summary of this just in case you don’t want to read that big block of text down there: Comment and chat coding, then information about Blogclan like who the mods are and how to be one, the deputy and medicine cat, ranks, mentors and apprentices, secret pages, and Live Chat.
Coding!
.
.
Ground rules:
– Make sure there isn’t a space between the coding and your text unless it is the link code (you’ll see what I mean)
– For emoticons, make sure there is always a space before and after the code. In the lesson, I’ll be putting a space for the same reason above 🙂
– Type it exactly as I do otherwise it won’t work that sounded like a threat
– With the new format of the blog, some of these codes can be used with the icons by the message, such as bold, underline and italic! These codes are still functional but it may be easier to use those icons 😀
All of these codes must be done in source coding to work!
Alright, let’s begin!
.
.
ITALICS: <i>this will be italicized</i>
BOLD: <b>this will be bolded</b>
STRIKETHROUGH: <strike>this would be strikethroughed</strike>
CODE LIKE WORDS: <code>this would look code-y</code>
LINK: <a href=“your link here”>you would then click here for the link</a>
QUOTE: <blockquote>your quote here</blockquote>
FAKE LINK: <a>words blah blah</a>

.
For emoticons, <b>do not</b> put a space between the two symbols 🙂

😀 Emoji- : D
😛 Emoji- : P
😮 Emoji- : o

Ok! And now, chat coding brought to you by the lovely Plumeflake! She wrote the part below about Live chat coding (which is explained even further below) 😀
BLOGCHAT CODING (these codes only work on chat when it is open)

Ground rules:
– Make sure there isn’t a space between the coding and your text (you’ll see what I mean)
– Type it <strong>exactly as I do</strong> otherwise it won’t work.
Ok let’s go!

The boxcodes supported by Cbox are:
COLORED TEXT, using hex colour codes or colour names: hex colour or named colour
COLORED TEXT AND BACKGROUND using hex colour codes: foreground and background
BOLD: bold text
UNDERLINED: underlined text
ITALICS: italicized text
STRIKETHROUGH: [s]struck-out text[/s]
QUOTES: [q]quoted text[/q]
SUBSCRIPT: [sub]subscript[/sub] (Makes your text smaller and moves it downwards) OR
[sup]superscript[/sup]
(Makes your text smaller and moves it upwards)
CENTER ALIGNMENT: centered text
LINEBREAK: [br]
BIG WORDS: [big]larger font[/big]
SMALL WORDS: [small]smaller font[/small]
CUSTOM FONT: [class=custom]custom-styled text[/custom]
FIXED WIDTH TEXT:
fixed-width text
LINK CODE: named url link
OR
https://yourlinkhere.yeet
IMAGE CODE:
OR

SCROLLING/MOVING TEXT: [scroll]scrolling text[/scroll]

BONUS CODES: If you type //colors into the chatbox and press enter, you can change the text you type into the colour of your choice by clicking on the colour you want after you press enter! The jumble of letters, numbers and symbols that appears on the chatbox before whatever you type in (e.g. ^#004c92) is the code for your chosen colour, so leave it in the chatbox and type your message after your colour code so your messages on the chat can be in the colour you wanted!
Typing in //tetris and pressing enter lets you play a good old level of the puzzle game Tetris whenever you’re bored, even when Blogchat is closed!

Thank you Plume!

Some other notes about BlogClan:
– BlogClan is kept safe and fun by a group of moderators called Blogteam. They moderate (check) your comments so that no one uses inappropriate words and also so that sensitive topics that might upset other people are kept to a minimum and have a warning before the comment. Our current mods are Goldenfawn (often called Goldi), Birchfoot (Birchy), Cheetahspark (Cheetah, Cheeto), Rainshine (Rainie), Winterwhisper (Wint, Winter, Win), Viperfrost (Viper), Kat, Jayfrost (Jayie), Iceflower (Icy), Emberdawn (Embix, Ember, Emb), Hazelburrow (Josh, Kate’s son) and of course, Kate herself (Cakestar) (why did I just put everyone’s nicknames 😛 ). They’ll definitely be able to answer your questions best of all! Currently, you can’t become a mod, but applications open up every once in a while if the team needs any help. Check out the Ask Blogteam Page for more info on the mods!

– The current deputy and medicine cat of BlogClan are Icy and Embix, while our medicine cat apprentice, chosen by the current medicine cat, is Snowy. Their jobs are to keep the blog going smoothly, sorting out disputes, and welcoming new members like you might be! Elections are held every two years, and one was held last year, so you can not have one of those positions right now 🙂 Try running in 2021!

– On BlogClan, you can have mentors/apprentices just like in the books. Your ranking is based on your age/grade in school:
Elementary School, 1st grade-5th grade, ages 6-12 – Kit
Middle School, 6th grade-8th grade, ages 11/12-13/14 – Apprentice
High School/College, 9th grade-the end of school, ages 13/14 to whenever you get out of school 😛 – Warrior
Out of school – Elder
You do not have to have a mentor or apprentice, they are just for fun (and minor bragging rights 😛 ). If you would like to look for one, head on over to the Allegiances Chat Page and ask to be on Cheetah’s list of available mentors and apprentices! A good method to find someone is making a list of your interests and hobbies 😉 Don’t be afraid to ask anyone on the list if they want to be your mentor/apprentice. Good luck if you are looking!

– “A Purrsona is a cat character that represents yourself in some way, just in case any new members didn’t know. It’s like what you would look like and what your name would be if you were a cat in the Warriors world.” Thank you Plume for this addition!

– One new rule that’s come up is the use of Google Docs, Slides, and other Google applications. It’s generally discouraged to use these platforms to share writing or art, as they can be edited to contain inappropriate material after a mod has modded a comment containing them. Try using a secret page, or take a screenshot and post it on Imgur, then copy the Imgur link in a comment!

– I know that with the new blog format, we can attach images directly to the comment, by clicking the little picture symbol in the bottom right of the comment box, but there’s a size limit on your file. If your file is too big, you can do one of the following:
Imgur is an image hosting website (it’s ok if you don’t know what that means 😛 ) that most Blogclanners use to share images. Upload your image to an album on imgur.com and then copy the link! Blackie shares some details on this process here:
“If you want to post in Imgur, at the top left corner there should be a button that says ‘New Post’ with a ‘+’ on it, which is green. You can upload an image by dragging into the directed area or just uploading it by selecting a screenshot from your photos if you’re using mobile!”
This works with instagram too, but only if you post it!

– Secret pages are what they sound like, “secret pages” (they aren’t openly linked) that you can access and find with secret methods (hint: try clicking on some pictures!). Once you find one that has not been claimed or used, you can claim it by posting a comment on it saying “Claimed!”. Make sure you check that no one else has claimed it before you. If it hasn’t been used for more than a year (my general rule of thumb) and the person who claimed it has gone inactive, you can claim it. If you see one you like, but it’s claimed by someone who’s still on Blogclan, ask them! Chances are they’ll let you have it 😉 Once you claim it, you can pretty much use it for anything! Lots of people use them for roleplaying, fanfiction, and games. I apologize in advance if you’re searching 😉

– On many places such as the official Name That Apprentice! and the Tavern, you have to press the blue reply button right below the main comment so that it is clear that you are replying to that person’s comment. It also keeps the pages from getting cluttered, as a new page is made every ten comments (not counting replies). The reply button is in the bottom left corner of every comment until reply chains get too long.

– Live Chat is a really cool thing, it’s that (currently) orange box that you may see on the sides of pages (on large screens) or at the bottom (for small screens). You can create an account by putting in your desired name that you want people to see in the name box, clicking “Profile” in the bottom right corner and making an account. Live Chat is also moderated by Blogteam for the same reasons as comments.

– One very important thing to remember is that all pages have descriptions on the top of the page! If you are unsure what a page is for, read the description and if you have any more questions, you can ask 🙂

– Finally, Kate Cary is a very busy person. I know that you all are big Warriors fans, and that you might have questions, but she doesn’t have time to answer them all. The mods will then fill in, or, if you have any questions about already published Warriors content, you can ask it on the Ask the Experts or Meet Blogteam page 🙂 If you have a specific question for Kate, the mods will leave it in moderation for her!
Yep, that’s all I can think of right now for BlogClan! Of course, there’s much more, but it’s always more fun to find it on your own 😛 Have fun exploring! I hope this helped 😀 Anyone can add on to this in the replies, as well as test the codes!

• Hey guys! My name’s Ebay and I’m just the local Blogclan lunatic 😛 I hope you stick around, but it can be confusing at first so here are account instructions for all the new members 🙂
Making an account has all sorts of benefits. It allows you to set a gravatar(profile picture), create a “siggie”, put links in your name, and makes your experience on the blog overall much smoother.

Step 1: On the bar near the top of your screen (where it says “New Member?” and “Need Company?” and whatnot) by the far right (it should be the last icon up there) there is a little silhouette that looks like a body and a person’s head. Click that.

Step 2: Set your user. It doesn’t have to be your name on the blog, nobody but the mods have access to your username and hence it doesn’t matter what it is. Then type in your email. Make sure you have access to this email. Lastly, answer the math problem given (I’m sorry math-haters).

Step 3: Check your email to finish registering your account and set up a password. It can take a long time for the email to send, but if you think it’s taking longer than it should feel free to contact a mod or make a new account under a different email.

Step 4: Go back to blogclan and log in!

Getting to your dashboard is the first step to everything.

Step 1: Create an account/log in. (see above)

Step 2: After you log in there should be a thin black bar at the top of your screen and on the far right you should see your name and gravatar(if you have one) click that and then click “edit your profile.”

Step 3: You should now be at your dashboard. There you can set your nickname, gravatar, and a bunch of stuff.

This helps people to identify who you are!

Step 1: Log in and go to your dashboard. (see above)

Step 2: Next to where it says “Nickname” there should be a box. Type your preferred name in that box (ex. Timmyclaw).

Step 3: Right below that there should be “Display name publicly as” and a drop down box. In that drop down box choose the name you just typed in.

Step 4: Scroll to the very bottom of your dashboard and click the button that says “Update Profile.” Click it twice for good measure, then return to the blog.

Signatures, otherwise known as “siggies” are little messages at the bottom of your comments that you get to customize.

Step 1: Log in and go to your dashboard. (See above)

Step 2: Scroll to the near bottom of your dashboard. You should see a header titled “Extra profile information.” Then under that you’ll see “User’s Signature” and next to that a little box. Type what you want to be your siggie there. (max 30 characters; including spaces)

Step 3: Then click the colored box at the very bottom of the page that says “Update Profile.” Click it twice just to be safe. Then click “Blogclan” at the upper left corner of your screen to return to the blog.

Gravatars are great for people who want to add more customization and charm to their comments. It also helps people identify who you are. Be aware, setting your gravatar is more complicated than the rest of the things on this list.

Step 1: Go to https://en.gravatar.com/

Step 2: Click where it says sign in on the upper right corner. Create a NEW account (don’t try logging into your blogclan account, it won’t work!) and make sure it uses the SAME EMAIL as your blogclan one.

Step 3: Follow the emailed instructions sent to you from the website to finish registering your accounts.

Step 4: Once logged in, go to “Manage Gravatars” and click “Add a new image.” Upload the image you’d like to use, crop it, and give it a rating. If you’re rating the image as anything higher than “G” you might want to rethink your image choice.

Step 5: Return to the blog, make sure you’re logged in, and reload! Comment to test if your gravatar is set. 😛
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me or the mods 😀
