Ok so I love this book and all but some parts just made me want to throw it out the window in rage of what fake Bramblestar was doing and how the only reason the other cats aren’t realizing something is that “he lost a life” and “it’ll make Starclan come back” I mean he had a COMPLETE personality change and even Squirrelflight wasn’t too suspicious until far in the book. He banished his ‘son’ for a quarter moon because he crossed the border while it was raining!! Then he sent his daughter to what he hoped was her death when she went looking for Lionblaze because he wasn’t banished anymore and was still missing. But what made me the maddest was that he punished Tree, a cat from another clan and Leafstar was like “noooo” and everyone else was like “GREAT IDEA YES” and she was like “oh okay then I guess it’s fine”. It’s just that he’s punishing and banishing cats out of his control and nobody cares. I was really relieved when Rootpaw and Shadowsight finally put the pieces together because they were so perfectly laid out. Voice says kill Bramblestar, Bramblestar is possessed. Voice says punish codebreakers, Bramblestar only ever talks about codebreakers.
Again though, I LOVED this book because the characters are smart. It’s not like when it took twenty years to make the connection between Hawkfrost and Tigerstar or Mistystar and Stonefur to Bluestar. The characters in this book were able to fit it together once they had the pieces pretty quickly. I wasn’t sure how I felt at the start of chapter two “There were plenty more mice in the forest”…
Is it just me or does Stemleaf have a small crush on Bristlefrost? Because he always feels worried/uncomfortable when Bristlefrost talks to Rootpaw, even tho he likes Spotfur, it still feels like he likes Bristlefrost a little bit, and Spotfur even gets jealous when Stemleaf talks to Bristlefrost.
Well I ship Stem x Bristle, soo I find it cute when they talk together and it makes Spotfur jealous, and it will be interesting to see if Stemleaf does or does not choose Bristlefrost over Spotfur in future books.
Okay, does anyone remember Beetlewhisker? The cat who basically got killed by Brokenstar in The Last Hope, but he kept appearing in allegiances, but didn’t appear anymore in the allegiances in The Silent Thaw? I have a theory.
Maybe when Brokenstar killed him, he actually didn’t kill him for good, maybe he just killed him so Beetlewhisker could NEVER go back to The Dark Forest, and maybe he was still in the living world. And then, when the other cats were screaming for him, maybe Beetlewhisker woke up in the territory, not in the camp, and then went back and maybe told everyone what happened. Then, he appeared in Lost Stars, but didn’t apppear in The Silent Thaw. Maybe he died because of the cold or something, and still went to Starclan, because, as i was saying, Brokenstar only killed him so he can never go back to the Dark Forest, but he could still go to StarClan. That’s my theory, i don’t know if it’s real or fake, but this is just my theory!

Because Berrynose is an idiot who knows nothing about being deputy. This is why I never expected him outta all cats to become deputy.
I didn’t either. I expected Rosepetal since she has mentored so many apprentices.
Same, I thought Bristlefrost would become deputy since she had taken over the patrols.

Maybe this is why he never had an apprentice, because they wanted to use Berrynose for something, and this is it! It is sad tho, i actually started to like him…
And see it on the bright sight, if Berrynose never had an apprentice and he becomes leader, he will finally break the curse that leaders’ apprentices won’t be their deputies!

I say that if I have to suffer though Berrynose being deputy then I vote for Leafpool to come back!
Actually, I really like that Berrynose became deputy! He became better as the series went on. (I don’t think he’ll stay deputy, though.)
I really Really REALLY hope he doesn’t.
But it would be interesting to see what would happen if Berrynose did become Berrystar……..hmmmmmm
