bramblestar is one of my faves, if he dies, im gonna cry. think, bramblestar had to prove his loyalty as an apprentice to reach this stage.. plus we need t find out whos in his body. this is the last time i read a mystery book, the suspense is killing me……… my friend is in LOVE with ur books same here and we have our own code names in class. shes dawnheart and im brackenwing any chnce u could add them in the book. brackenwing is skyclan she is goldenbrown with tabby marks and cream paws. dawnheart is dark ginger and tabby they are sisters! btw if u could have a warrior name what would it be????

Yes, I used to be Minacloud (which is just based on a random German name I found on the internet and NOT my real name by the way) but I used the name ‘Plumeflake’ as my Blogclan display name when I posted this comment and some glitch caused by the blog getting updated a few years ago changed the display name on most of my older comments which were posted under the Plumeflake name to my then current display name at the time, which was ‘Minacloud’.

I have another guess of who is possessing Bramblestar—
Hawkfrost. His brother.
But Hawkfrost is dead-dead. How could he possess his brother if his spirit has been killed permanently?
Still think it’s Ashfur or some cat we’ve never seen before.
Maybe Mapleshade?
I highly doubt a she-cat would possess a tom’s body.. that would be very strange.

So I think who’s possessing Bramblestar isn’t dead dead because Vicky confirmed they can never come back. Also, however badly it’s executed, they all had their big dramatic moments. Also, Kate, didn’t you say something about the return of a controversial character? Breezepelts alive, Mapleshade is dead dead, and nightcloud and sol (presumably) are still alive. I think it’s Ashfur, but I don’t want to be Ashfur, I think it’s Ashfur, or someone random, like goosefeather
My one hope is that squirrelflight didn’t recognize the possessors voice, so that hopefully rules out Ashfur and a whole lot more candidates
Mapleshade isn’t dead dead. She’s still a spirit, as Sandstorm chased her back to the DF.
But the possessor and the cat talking to shadowsight are confirmed to be toms. Clear Sky is so dead no one cares about him, and at least one of the ghost cats are in Starclan (see the lost stars prologue)
I really really hope it’s Sol. When you think about it, he is the only recurring antagonist that isn’t the MAIN antagonist. I hate his guts obviously, but he is such a fun character. No villain in a book has ever given me the sense of sheer frustration that Sol does. That’s what makes him a great villain. YOU know he’s evil, the PROTAGONISTS know he’s evil, but no one else believes them. The Bramblestar possession perfectly fits Sol’s style.
My theory is that Sol died in a ditch somewhere, but his spirit is just floating around, because he never believed in StarClan or even The Dark Forest. His hatred for the Clans is keeping him “alive”. He whispers in Shadowsight’s ear to make Bramblestar die. Then, knowing how the nine lives process works, he waited until Bramblestar’s spirit left, then took over in the passing period between the lives. Instead of denying StarClan, he is now using the Clans faith AGAINST them.
If you pay close attention, the cats keep saying “Why is this person a code breaker and he’s not?” Lionblaze and Jayfeather are confused about their own code breaking. Sol is targeting cats he knows. Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Dovewing in particular thwarted his Omen of the Stars plan. Squirrelflight was also involved in stopping his schemes before. I’m not sure about Mothwing and especially Twigbranch. He has no way of knowing who Twigbranch is and if I remember correctly he never really messed with RiverClan all that much.
Ashfur’s vengeful spirit is an interesting concept, and it makes a lot of sense. He takes over Bramblestar’s body, treats Squirrelflight like a queen, and tries to kill Sparkpelt, Bramblestar’s kit. He also hates Jayfeather and Lionblaze so that’s something.
I am drawing a complete blank on things like ShadowClan’s bad luck and StarClan going silent though.
I think it’s Sol, but once again, in TST, Possessed Bramblestar said, “It’s good to see you haven’t lost your fire, Squirrelflight, it reminds me of the old days. You used to stand up to me then too.” It sound like Ashfur for some reason?
But the ghost or ghosts plural are confirmed toms so it can’t be Mapleshade
I was really confused about something in this book and idk if it was a timeline error or me having a little moment where my ability to think just poofs away
So I was reading this book and Squirrelflight goes to ShadowClan to try and stay there. Throughout that scene, they say stuff like Tigerstar was too young to remember the great battle, and he’d heard only stories of it and things like that. But that can’t be true can it ? He was a dark forest trainee, a full warrior by the time the battle started and he fought on the side of the clans

I’m flattered that you think I’d know. I remember trying to work out who was where when what happened while writing, but really, it becomes an impossible equation at some point and you just have to commit and go with the story and hope that you can take the readers with you. I’m sorry if I failed to do that in this case….
Oh its absolutely fine !! I just noticed it and wondered whether it was my failing knowledge and the fact that I was reading at 10 in the evening or not. You do a great job keeping up with all of the information, and just because one thing slips through doesn’t make it bad. Like there is so much that you have to remember !!!!!

Yep, that is a mistake. Tigerstar should be able to remember participating in the GB for sure. It’s okay, Kate. Mistakes happen a lot with this series.
Tigerheartstar was a supporting character during the Great Battle. He definitely had a role to play, as evidenced in The Last Hope. This was a timeline error, and one that made me do a double take during my first read of the book.

Hey Kate, is the broken code arc going to be the last one you write, or are you writing more? It’s because i looveeee the books. In my opinion you should keep writing more. Also have you come up with which cat is possessing Bramblestar’s body? And if so is it a cat we’ve heard about or a totally new character?
