Having read the latest article on the Warrior cats website, I hope that this is what will happen: After Ashfur is defeated Starclan is either still missing or has decided to step back and let the clans run their affairs on their own. The clans will decide that they need to work together more closely and elect a common cross-clan council or something and amend the warrior code. There will be a lot of disagreements, arguments and power struggles within and between the clans. Riverclan will lose its leader and maybe deputy and there will be a vacuum of power within the clan. They will not be happy with other clans having a say in their affairs. Mothwing will either die or stay in Shadowclan to leave Frostpaw as RCs only medicine cat. I hope that this arc will focus on interactions, intrigue and relationships within the clans, rather than some evil ghosts… I hope that we will get a book for every clan and that there will also be a Windclan and Skyclan perspective to show the changes and struggles also from their side.

After reading the summary of the first book, I’m guessing that Flamepaw’s warrior name will be Flameheart. It sounds like Fireheart, which means that cats are more likely to notice Flamepaw as his kin.

I have a theory! Frostpaw is a half-clan cat. I believe that at the end of the BC, half-clan relationships are going to be made cat legal. That could stir up all sorts of drama, with the secret of her father being revealed, and she + her siblings/parents have to deal with the aftermath. I think her father would most likely be in SkyClan, because I feel like they would be the most open to half-clan relationships, never having had to really deal with them before. Maybe Harrybrook could be her father, as on the cover she actually bears a striking resemblance, at least to his depiction on the Wiki. This is especially important, as Frostpaw’s mother, Curlfeather, looks nothing like her, with her having dusty brown fur. (Though, Warriors doesn’t really follow genetics 😛 ) Although, it could be someone else, as Harrybrook, for some reason, supported punishing codebreakers. (Maybe to cover up his own codebreaking?) Let me know what you think!

It would be weird for the RIVERCLAN medicine cat to be the grandkit of the SKYCLAN leader (Harrybrook’s mother is Leafstar).
But you gotta admit, that would be a pretty cool plot twist, as then her and her mother’s loyalty would undoutedly be questioned.
Hey Kate! I was wondering what inspired the choices of POV characters? I get Flamepaw as he is related to Firestar and I also kinda get the choice of Sunbeam as she is Needletail’s sister. But just what was your thought process in general?
We wanted voices that give a sense of continuity with the Warriors past, but also new voices which meant choosing unexpected cats. The cognation of traditional and fresh should give a beautifully wide perspective on the new storyline.

Hey Kate, does Frostpaw have any unique physical features/ a disability? It was a bit odd that you kept replying to all comments asking about her appearance with “WAS”, when we could see her front half clearly on the cover for River. I was thinking vitiligo (wild guess, I know) or possibly a damaged front leg, as she was holding it up in a strange way on the cover.
Not Kate, but given that this is another question about Frostpaw’s appearance or anything related to her that has not been already released, this will be another W.A.S. 🙂
If crowfeather become a leader, could you write a scene with his daughter hollyleaf. I think that is a cool idea, because in Crowfeather´s Trial, crowfeather could speak with his sons but not with his daughter.
