April BlogClan Contests!

Yay!! It’s time for the new Contests to open! 😀

HOW THE CONTESTS WORK

Every 2 months, a new set of contests is opened on the 1st of the month, which BlogClanners can enter up until the 28th of that month (4 weeks from the contests opening). On the 1st (or as near to as I can manage) of the next month, a post will be created, revealing the winners of those contests. During the next month, I will be making the prizes for the winners and runners up and planning the next set of contests. Then on the 1st of the month after, a new set of contests will be opened again! 😀
Every month with an even number is a new set of contests, and every month with an odd number is a planning and prize-giving month. Hope this all makes sense!

THE PRIZES

Each contest has a winner chosen, and two runners up.
The runners ups’ prize is either a custom made secret page, or a headshot drawing of an OC or character of their choice.
The winner’s prize is a custom made secret page and a full body drawing of an OC or character of their choice.

Rubydawn, and Thrushstorm, you may both still claim your prizes from the February contests if you would like to. 🙂

THE CONTESTS

Now all the explaining is done, we can get onto the exciting part: the contests themselves!

This edition of the contests, there will be a caption contest, an art contest, and a writing contest!

A FEW RULES:

• One entry per contest per person. (you may enter as many of the contests as you would like, but only enter each contest once, please. If you enter multiple times for one contest, I will only count your first submission.)
• Entries must be submitted before 08:00 am UTC+1 (BlogTime) on the 28th April 2024 (this is midnight in PST, and 3am in EST to name a few common timezones) to be judged! (I’ll try my best to remove the form then, so no more entries can be submitted, anyway)
• Entries must be submitted through the form. (this removes any risk of copying etc. as no one can see anyone else’s entry)
• The content of your entries must still be in line with the BlogClan rules and be BlogClan appropriate.

CAPTION CONTEST

For this contest, you will need to come up with a funny caption for the picture below!

Since it is Easter weekend in my country, and spring time in general, I chose this image!

Your caption may be as long or short as you’d like, and I would absolutely encourage being creative for this! 🙂

Of course, Blog rules still apply so make sure that your caption is Blog appropriate ( 😛 ) and simply don’t write anything in your caption that you wouldn’t post in a comment on the Blog.

ART CONTEST

For this contest, you will need to create an artwork based on the prompt below. You may use Warriors characters, your OCs (not just limited to Warriors OCs), or characters you create for this contest. Your artwork can be any medium, as long as you can upload a file of it or submit a photo of it.

The prompt: “Exploring a crumbling castle”

You can also tell me a little about what you have chosen to include and about your artwork in general when you submit it. 🙂

WRITING CONTEST

For this contest, you will need to write a short piece using the words listed below. Your writing can use characters from the world of Warriors, your OCs (not just limited to Warriors OCs), or characters you create for this contest. Please don’t use irl people or irl names!

Your writing needs to include these words either as a direct mention or in another way (get creative!):

• Rainfall
• Orange
• Moss

Please make your writing no longer than 500 words!
It may absolutely be shorter than 500 words (as my teachers have always said: quality not quantity) but please don’t go beyond 500. This is firstly because frankly, I don’t have the time to read through lots of entries that are 1000+ words, but secondly because it is an opportunity for you to edit and improve your work to be more concise – being able to refine your work so it can conjure the same meaning for readers in less words is a very important and useful skill! (As definitely not demonstrated in that long sentence I just wrote! 😛 )

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR ENTRIES

Please submit your entries via the form below!

The April contests are now closed, the results will be announced in a few days time.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

My file won’t upload! -> it exceeds the maximum file limit for our site! Please shrink the file or photo size and then reupload. On a laptop, if you open the image you should have the option to ‘resize image’ (on my windows laptop this is when you right click with your mouse over the image). On a tablet or phone, you can screenshot your image and then crop the screenshot.
I don’t want my entry to get cut off! -> if you are entering a written contest, then I would highly recommend writing your entry somewhere else (e.g. a google doc) and then copy and pasting the contents into the form so that you still have a copy of it yourself in case it gets cut off.
I accidentally clicked submit when I hadn’t finished filling out the form! -> don’t worry! I will realise when going through the entries. Just fill out the whole form with the entire entry – the incomplete one won’t count as your entry to the contest, the rule is there to make sure people don’t enter many different entries to the same contest.
